In the year 2nd May 2004, with the help of some young & a few enthusiastic persons Of Baishnabghata Udaya Sangha ,established on 14th April 1965 , Bengali New year and active participation of some not even so young office bearers of Udaya Araksha Samity , having a philanthropic mind with modest resources ventured to form a Health Care center with a humble beginning to endeavourer for rendering free or low cost health care services among the slum dwellers, people below the poverty level, handicapped persons and primary school children of poor families, marginalized population in the area, in short socially underprivileged, with the blessings of the medical practitioners and eminent physicians extended help so selflessly without caring for their busy schedules . Thus, it was possible for us to start functioning under “Udaya Araksha Swastha Kendra”. For the incidental costs since commencement of the health care, we depended on the fund created out of indigenous donations from the members and from friends and sympathizers. On the point of conjugation of components of curative services and referrals to diagnostic facilities, which is ac costly affair for the economically handicapped people, we have been able to convince many of the nearby services centers to cut their normal fees to a great extent. During this period, we have been able to involve the community for financial and material aids from many kind hearted persons without whose help our idea would have remained a dream. Secondly, it was possible for us to create awareness in the community and generate demand for health, the outcome of which was the holding of different health checkup camps. Resulting of the above tests, every single household of our locality and nearby areas is approached on a regular basis for effective permeation of health care services. Simultaneously, front line health care providers were drafted amongst us and they did a marvelous job in maintaining a close liaison between the service providers and the service seekers. At the same time, it must be mentioned that our consultants of different specialists have been magnanimous by providing their valuable & priceless services for our cause, so it has been possible for us to provide medical help under one roof and at a very low cost.
